Graduating from Merion Mercy Academy and now a proudly committed member of the Student Athlete Scholars (SAS) class of 2025 is Meadow Brooks from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
SAS is a successful fraternity of high-achieving student-athletes across the United States. This merit-based society cherry-picked the cream of the crop, bringing together student-athletes who excelled in their respective arenas, either state or national level. Belonging to this powerhouse means you are amongst the nation’s best and have been recognized for your dexterity both in academia and sports.
The singular goal of SAS is to help these young dynamos secure admissions into the colleges of their dreams. As high-achieving students, their outlook is rooted in the belief that college admissions should recognize the hard work, the grit, and the stamina required to balance both academics and sport.
The SAS society provides a platform for student-athletes like Brooks to network with other scholars. This interaction has proved helpful to many in gaining admission to top schools, often with great scholarships. Once these scholar-athletes glide through their journey, it provides an opportunity to mentor the students coming in their tracks.
Even more, SAS affords tailored strategies and tips for juggling rigorous academics alongside sports, a delicate see-saw handled by athletes like Brooks. The careful balancing act between grades, sports, admissions applications, and warding off burnout is carefully navigated with the aid of veteran admissions counselors with a background in athletics and academics.
Beyond sports and academics, the SAS society fervently encourages its members to delve into community-building, service, and leadership roles. Creating a local chapter not only paves the road for impressive college applications, but also helps nurture better students and alumni.
‘Community-athlete’ Meadow Brooks has lived up to these SAS ideals. She demonstrated a united dedication to both sports and community service throughout her time at Merion Mercy Academy. Not only did she consistently impress on and off the volleyball court, but she also devoted herself to being an active part of her community.
Post-graduation, Brooks is set to attend Hood College where she will grab the reins of her future, delving into an extensive study of Nursing. Additionally, she has committed to further manifest her athleticism by joining the college volleyball team.
As Brooks steps into this new phase of her academic journey, she exemplifies what SAS stands for: achieving excellence in sport, academia, and community service. Here’s raising a toast to Meadow Brooks, the class of ’25 SAS member, for her continued perseverance and achievement in the years to come.
